This will be a great feet!
You know how artists sometimes do caricatures on site at parties? I’ve done that twice, with good success both times, but this Thursday night I’ll be doing something different: caricatures of shoes! That’s right. It’s an opening night event for a new special events company run by Hazel Borquet, and she came up with this idea for an artist to draw caricatures on site, not of people, but of the shoes they’re wearing. I have a feeling this will mostly be women’s high heels.
Hazel and I met a few weeks ago for a “trial run”, and I drew her shoe, complete with her dainty foot in it. No problems, so I got the gig. If I can’t have fun with this, then I don’t know how to have fun. I’ll chat my “models” up while I work, and amuse them and myself, and who knows? Maybe every shoe has a story to tell.
