Pop Art Gallery

This is the art that takes American or world advertising logos and icons and puts them in a foreign context, mixes them up in a blender of pop culture images, and regurgitates them on to watercolor paper. There may be a slightly satirical edge to it, but it’s always done with affection too. In this day and age of being inundated with images, it seems logical to me that they ALL swim around our consciousness and come out mixed together. I’ve been doing this type of art since I was 17 (at this writing, that is 38 years ago), when I drew Lionel Hampton surrounded by various psychedelic creatures.
