This pop art piece is a highly detailed watercolor/collage with some 18 little Michelin Men prancing all over it. The Michelin Man logo was created in 1895, and was a lot different than the cute puffy guy we now know. He was made of bicycle tires, and was quite the rascal bon vivant. This piece also usues watercolors of Scott Hamilton off of shots I took of him many years ago, there is more, like a subteraneon community who pop through three times. There is also a border surrounding the art of people and animals drawn directly with ink, no preliminary sketching. Spontaneous drawing. There was a time when nearly all my art employed such time consuming borders.
